GeoFusion Technology Journal (GFTJ) is a peer-reviewed, open-access international journal dedicated to publishing pioneering research at the multi-disciplinary intersection ("Fusion") of Earth sciences, geospatial technologies, geotechnical engineering, environmental remote sensing, spatial data analytics, and computational geosciences. Positioned as a premier engineering and applied geosciences scholarly forum, the journal serves geoscientists, spatial software architects, remote sensing specialists, civil and geotechnical engineers, environmental data scientists, and disaster mitigation analysts worldwide. GFTJ prioritizes high-impact empirical research, integrated spatial modeling, satellite image processing algorithms, sensor network deployments, subsurface geophysics simulations, and smart geo-infrastructure frameworks. By synthesizing physical Earth dynamics with advanced computational intelligence, spatial data fusion, and technological engineering, the journal fosters a deep, comprehensive understanding of how integrated geo-technologies address environmental monitoring, natural resource management, and climate-resilient infrastructure challenges.

Reflecting its mandate to advance cross-disciplinary geospatial and geotechnical technology synthesis, the journal welcomes high-quality original research articles, systematic technical reviews, computational modeling studies, and field-tested engineering evaluations within the following thematic areas:
  • Geospatial Data Fusion, Remote Sensing & Earth Observation: Multi-source spatial data integration, optical and radar satellite imagery fusion, UAV/drone aerial mapping, LiDAR data analytics, and high-resolution spatial modeling.
  • Geo-AI, Spatial Computing & Digital Twins: Artificial intelligence and deep learning in geosciences, automated terrain feature extraction, spatial predictive modeling, smart city digital twins, and cloud-native GIS infrastructure.
  • Geotechnical Fusion, Subsurface Systems & Rock Mechanics: Soil-structure interaction modeling, subsurface geophysical imaging, slope stability analytics, underground engineering, and smart sensor monitoring in geotechnical structures.
  • Geohazards, Disaster Management & Environmental Monitoring: Multi-hazard early warning systems, landslide risk evaluation, flood inundation modeling, coastal erosion tracking, and seismic activity monitoring technologies.
  • Smart Infrastructure, Precision Geodesy & GIS Systems: High-precision GNSS tracking, underground utility mapping, BIM-GIS technical integration, environmental resource mapping, and spatial decision support frameworks.
Publication Frequency
To ensure rigorous editorial oversight, thorough peer review, and the timely dissemination of geospatial and technology research, GFTJ is published semi-annually (2 issues per year, typically scheduled for release in June and December). Special thematic issues focusing on Geo-AI in natural hazard mitigation, multi-sensor remote sensing fusion, or digital twins in geotechnical engineering may be commissioned by the Editorial Board.

Peer Review Process
GFTJ enforces a strict double-blind peer review policy to maintain the highest standards of technical integrity, spatial accuracy, and methodological validity across engineering and geosciences disciplines.
  • Initial Desk Evaluation: Every submission undergoes a preliminary screening by the Editor-in-Chief or a relevant Geoscience Subject Editor to assess technical alignment, methodological soundness (spatial data accuracy, numerical simulation rigor, sensor calibration validity, or field-testing protocols), and structural compliance. Plagiarism screening via Turnitin/iThenticate is strictly executed at this stage, requiring a similarity index below the journal's maximum threshold.
  • Expert Peer Review: Manuscripts passing the desk evaluation are anonymized and assigned to at least two independent international reviewers who are established academic researchers, senior geoscientists, or specialized geotechnical engineering experts.
  • Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editorial Board renders one of four decisions: Acceptance, Revisions Required (Minor/Major), Resubmit for Review, or Rejection. The final decision rests entirely on intellectual merit, technical rigor, analytical accuracy, and practical engineering or environmental impact.
